Why won't my Draper Tiller engine start?
- JJoel HallAug 3, 2025
If your Draper Tiller engine won't start, several factors could be the cause: * The fuel tank may be empty, so refuel it. * The STOP/START switch might be in the STOP position; ensure it's in the START position. * The ignition cable plug may not be firmly attached; push it on tightly. * The ignition cable plug may be dirty; clean it. * There might be fuel inside the combustion chamber; remove the spark plug, dry off the electrode, and start at full throttle. * The spark plug may be dirty; clean the spark section. * The distance between the electrodes of the spark plug may be too large; set the gap to 0.7 to 0.8mm. * You might be using the wrong fuel; drain the tank and fill it with the correct fuel. * The spark plug may be defective; replace it.
