Why is my DriSteem VM-4 not heating?

  If your DriSteem Humidifier isn't heating, it could be due to several reasons. First, check the main line safety switch and fuses, and ensure the unit is receiving the correct supply voltage. Another possible cause is an incorrect or nonexistent control voltage. In this case, try resetting the control transformer circuit breaker and verify that there's 24 VAC control circuit voltage at T-1 and T-2 on the control board. Also, make sure the humidistat is calling for humidity and that it isn't faulty. Finally, check the safety controls, air flow switch, and high humidistat.

  If your DriSteem Humidifier isn't filling, start by checking the water supply and shut-off valves to ensure there's water pressure at the valve. Then, check the water fill valve to see if it's receiving 24 volts. Also, inspect the strainer and valve for any blockages. Finally, verify the control voltage across the fill valve output, as a faulty control board could be the reason.

Why does my DriSteem Humidifier have low output even with proper water level?

  If your DriSteem Humidifier has reduced or no output despite the water being at the correct level, it could be due to a malfunctioning heater. Verify that the proper voltage is being applied to the heaters and check the heater amp draw, comparing it to the wiring diagram ratings. Another potential cause is a malfunctioning control system. If this is the case, replace the heater contactor if it's not functioning. Also, check auxiliary limit controls (humidistat, air flow proving switch, etc.) and reset, replace, or calibrate them as needed.

What to do if my DriSteem VM-4 does not stop filling?

  If your DriSteem Humidifier won't stop filling, it might be due to a few reasons. First, ensure that the water conductivity is at least 100 micromhos/cm (2 gr/gal) or .34.2 mg/liter. You might need to add salt to the tank. Also, check the fill valve for any foreign matter that may be causing it to stick open. Inspect the drain valve to ensure it's closed and that the fill valve is installed correctly, noting the arrow for proper water flow. Finally, the humidifier may be in periodic drain and flush, so check the controller display.
