Tracking
Force
Adjustment
In
order
to
provide
optimum
reproduction
of
the
sound
signals
cut
into
the
record
groove,
a
certain
pressure
called
"tracking
force"
must
be
applied
on
the
stylus.
If
you
purchased
your
turntable
with
a
factory-mounted
Dual
cartridge,
you'll
find
the
correct
tracking
force
in
the
spec
sheet
supplied
with
the
unit.
After
adjusting
the
tonearm
balance
as
described
above,
set
the
tracking
force
by
adjusting
the
dial
ring
of
the
counterweight
(4),
The
tracking
force
can
be
continuously
set
within
the
range
from
O
to
20
mN
(0

g),
whereby
the
digits
on
the

represent
the

Anti-skating
The
skating
force
acting
upon
any
tonearm
leads
to
one-sided
wear
of
the
stylus
and
record
and
can
cause
distorted
repro-
duction
For
stylus

available
nowadays,
separate

scales
are
available
in

outlet
and
depress
the
POWER
switch
(21)
For
further
details,
please
refer
to
"Connection

on
page
10.
Check
which
of
the
two
arrow
marks
above
the
LIFT

(13)
is
illuminated.
If
the
w

lights
up,
release

once
Now
switch

by
depressing
the
POWER

Adjust
tonearm
balance
as
described
below.
The
tonearm
is
balanced
if
it
remains
in
a
horizontal
position
when
suspended
freely
(moved
inward
from
its
resting
post)
and
if
it
returns
to
this
horizontal
position
if
pushed
upwards
or
downwards.
Shifting
the
counterbalance
(1)
on
its
shaft
balances
the
tone-
arm
coarsely;
turning
the
front
knurled
ring
of
the
counter
balance
weight
(1)
balances
the
tonearm
exactly.
1.
Set
the
tracking
force
(4)
to
O
and
the
anti-skating
device
(7)
to
“off”
(pointer
to
left).
Unlock
the
tonearm
and
pivot
it
towards
the
centre
of
the
platter
over
the
tonearm
rest
2,
If
the
tonearm
does
not
return
to
a
horizontal
position
on
its
own,
release
the
locking
screw
(2)
and
shift
the
counter-
balance
with
the
stem
until
you
have
an
approximate
balan-
ce.
The
stem
of
the
counterbalance
should
then
be
locked
by
tightening
the
locking
screw,
3.
Now

The
cover
will
remain
in
any
desired

when
opened
a
few
centimeters.
If
it
should
become
necessary
to
reset
the
spring
pressure
that
maintains
the
cover
in
position,
this
may
be
done
by
rotating
the
screws
accessible
at
the
rear
of
the

clockwise
increases
the
spring
pressure
Rotating
