This is how you exclude nickel objects:
Set the DISC/TONE control to 11-12 o'clock.
Move an nickel coin 5-8 cm above the centre of the search coil and the unit
stops responding (the speaker remains quiet and the metal indicator does not
go off). Now move a different coin above the search coil. A beep will sound and
the metal indicator will go off. All nickel coins are now ignored.
Distinguish between different metals:
To distinguish between different metals, turn the DISC knob. When you
turn the knob from 0 to 10, in order: iron, nickel, can lids, zinc, copper and
aluminium are excluded.
Note: Silver is not excluded. The distinguishing position of silver normally
corresponds to that of aluminium, that of gold corresponds to that for can
closures.
