5. If you want to classify the metal types, you must switch to DISC mode. To
do this, slide the MODE switch to DISC, turn the volume control to the
middle position and the SENS control to 10.
This is how you exclude iron objects:
Set the DISC/TONE control to 0, the unit will respond to all iron objects
with a beep and the metal indicator will go off once to the right.
Turn the DISC/TONE control to position 9-10 o'clock. Move an iron nail
5-8 cm above the centre of the search coil and the unit stops responding
(the speaker remains quiet and the metal indicator does not go off).
Now move a coin above the search coil. A beep will sound and the metal
indicator will go off. All iron objects are now ignored.
