  If your DuroStar Portable Generator's engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the engine switch is set to the “ON” position. Next, verify that the fuel valve is in the “OPEN” position. Also, make sure the choke is closed. Check the fuel level; if it’s low, add gas, or if the gas is old or contaminated, replace it. Inspect the spark plug for dirt and clean it, or replace it if broken. Ensure the generator is on a level surface to prevent the low oil shutdown from activating. Finally, check the oil level and add or replace oil if necessary.
