  If your DuroStar Portable Generator's engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, check that the battery switch is set to “run” and the fuel valve is in the “open” position. Ensure the choke is closed and that there's sufficient fuel in the generator, and that the fuel isn't old or contaminated. A dirty or broken spark plug could also be the culprit, so inspect and clean or replace it as necessary. Make sure the generator is on a level surface. Lastly, check the oil level and add or change the oil if needed.

  If your DuroStar Portable Generator's engine runs but there is no electrical output, check if the circuit breaker is turned “on”. A bad wiring connection could also be the cause, so replace the extension cord(s). Also, the device connected to the generator may be malfunctioning, so disconnect any problematic devices.

  If your DuroStar Portable Generator runs but doesn't support all connected devices, it might be overloaded. Try disconnecting some devices to reduce the load. A malfunctioning device can also cause this issue, so disconnect any device that might be faulty. Finally, a dirty air cleaner can also cause this problem, so clean or replace the air filter.
