What to do if Dynalite DMC810GL's circuit breakers keep tripping?
    • R
      rjohnsonAug 1, 2025
If your Dynalite Controller's circuit breakers are tripping, it could be due to a short circuit on the load causing instant tripping or the dimmer being overloaded, leading to delayed tripping. First, inspect the load wiring for any short circuits. Then, verify the dimmer loading using a current tester, remembering to account for low power-factor loads and transformer losses. Also, ensure that the breaker terminals are properly tightened.

Why fluorescent lights won’t dim with Dynalite DMC810GL?
    • J
      johnharveyAug 7, 2025
If fluorescent lights connected to your Dynalite Controller are not dimming, the issue might stem from an incorrect ballast type or incorrect ballast wiring. Verify the ballast type and compare the actual wiring to the ballast manufacturer’s diagram. Also, check the 1-10V/DSI and DALI Broadcast settings.

What to do if Dynalite DMC810GL Controller power supply LED is lit, but no Service LED activity?
    • E
      Eduardo KnightAug 13, 2025
If the power supply indicator LED is lit but there is no Service LED activity on your Dynalite Controller, it may be due to several reasons: the supply voltage is too low, there is a short circuit on the network, or the control PCB is faulty. Check that the supply voltage is at least 75% of the rated voltage and check the 12V terminal voltages. Try disconnecting the network bus and restoring power. If the problem persists, replace the control PCB.

How to fix a Dynalite Controller dimmer that won't respond to control panel push buttons?
    • T
      terririceAug 18, 2025
If your Dynalite Controller dimmer is not responding to control panel push buttons, the control panel may be incorrectly wired or have an incorrect configuration. Check the operation of the LEDs on the control panel. Push a button on the panel and observe the response of the service LED.

What to do if Dynalite DMC810GL Controller dimmer does not operate at all?
    • C
      carlosmartinAug 26, 2025
If your Dynalite Controller dimmer is not operating and there is no Service LED activity, it may be due to an incorrect connection of the mains supply or no power available. Check the power supply to the dimmer and verify the Line and Neutral input connections.

Summary

Safety Warnings and Precautions

General Safety Precautions

Instructions to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, and ensure safe installation and maintenance by qualified personnel.

Device Features

Control Outputs

Four optically isolated outputs for DALI, 1-10V, or DSI control.

Important Safeguards and Installation Advice

Read Manual and Retain

Recommend reading the manual before installation and retaining it for end-user.

Troubleshooting Reference

Check the 'Troubleshooting' section on page 10 if problems are encountered.

Special Programming Requirements

Device requires programming for advanced modes, contact local agent.

Connection Tightness Check

Tighten all load-carrying screw connections due to transport vibrations.

Power Source Specifications

Operate only from specified supply type; device must be earthed.

Output Circuit Load Limits

Do not exceed 10A per channel; total load not to exceed 40A.

Ballast Control Circuit Wiring

Use 2-core LV cable for DALI, 1-10V, DSI; outputs are not SELV.

Mounting Location Guidelines

Mount vertically, right way up, with 100mm clearance; dry, well-ventilated location.

Data Cable Specifications

Use screened, stranded RS485 cable; segregate from mains cables by 300mm.

Mounting Instructions

Choosing a Mounting Location

Indoor use only, mount vertically, right way up with 200mm air gap for ventilation and serviceability.

Securing the Device

Use integral brackets and 4 screws (up to 8mm diameter) for wall mounting.

Cable Entry Management

Route supply/load cables to the top; control cables to the bottom, away from mains sections.

Supply and Load Cable Connections

Connecting Supply Cables

Connect Phase & Neutral to terminals with minimum 40A capacity cables.

Connecting Dimmed and Switched Loads

Terminate load cables on designated blocks, observe 10A per channel limit.

Connecting Ballast Control Cables

Connect ballast control cables below load terminals, configurable for tandem or independent operation.

Emergency Lighting Circuit Connection

Connect emergency lighting circuit active to the load side of relevant circuit breakers.

Energizing the Device Safely

Device can be energized with cover replaced; de-energize before control cable termination.

Connecting Serial Control Cables

Serial Cable Types and Connections

Use screened RS485 data cable with three twisted pairs for DyNet signals.

Permanent Serial Cable Wiring

Wiring recommendations for permanent serial connections using specific cable pairs.

Daisy Chain Connection Method

Connect devices in a daisy chain; terminate first and last cables only.

Programming Presets via Program Key

Adjust Individual Channel Levels

Press channel buttons (1-4, then repeated presses for 5-12) to select and adjust levels.

Set Channel Levels

Use up, down, or off buttons to set the desired level for the selected channel.

Save Preset Scene

Press PROGRAM again to store levels; repeat steps for other presets.

Programming Presets (Hold Down Method)

Store Preset Scene

Press and hold button for 5 seconds to store settings; repeat for other presets.

Troubleshooting Guide

No Operation or Service LED Activity

Check power supply connections and availability; verify supply voltage.

Power LED On, No Service LED

Check network connections, restore power, or replace control PCB.

No Response to Control Panel

Check control panel wiring, configuration, and service LED response.

Circuit Breakers Tripping

Check load wiring for short circuits or overload; verify breaker terminals.
