Troubleshooting
Flow Rates are Changing
Cleanliness of the barrel and components is a critical factor in the behavior of
materials. The barrel of the unit should be cleaned as well as possible. All
components associated with the instrument (Piston tip and Orifice) should be
cleaned of all debris and material build-up. Remove the orifice to clean it. Next,
the units’ component tolerances and operational components should be checked:
The barrel temperature should be checked with the supplied
thermometer. (+/- 0.2° C)
The orifice should be checked for wear with the supplied GO-NO GO
gauge. (0.0825 +/-0.0002 in.)
