This document describes the EB-300 and EB-310 series of simple banknote counters with detection capabilities, manufactured by E-Banking Tech Co., Ltd. These machines are designed for counting and detecting counterfeit banknotes.
Function Description
The EB-300 and EB-310 series are banknote counters equipped with various detection technologies depending on the specific model. They are primarily used for:
- Counting: Accurately counting banknotes.
- Detection: Identifying counterfeit notes and other anomalies.
Different models offer varying detection capabilities:
- EB-300: Basic counting with IR (Infrared) detection.
- EB-300UV: Includes IR and UV (Ultraviolet) detection.
- EB-300MG: Includes IR and MG (Magnetic) detection.
- EB-310: Features IR, UV, and MG detection.
- EB-310SU: Includes IR, UV, and 3D size detection.
- EB-310S: Offers comprehensive detection with IR, UV, MG, and 3D size detection.
The control panel features dedicated buttons for activating or deactivating specific detection modes (UV, MG, DD for different denomination/size detection). The DD function, specifically on the 310S and 310SU models, utilizes a 3D size sensor for detecting different denomination notes by vertical size.

Usage Features
The device offers several operational modes and settings:
- Placing Bills: Proper placement of bills in the hopper is crucial for accurate counting and detection. Users should avoid counting wet, dirty, folded, curled, or damaged notes, as well as notes with foreign materials like clips or bands, to prevent malfunctions.
- Counting: The machine counts notes and displays the total. If an error occurs, an error message is displayed, and the machine stops. Errors can often be cleared by pressing the RESET/START key and manually removing any jammed bills.
- Add Function: When activated, the machine accumulates the total count of notes across multiple batches. This is useful for counting large quantities that exceed the stacker capacity. The accumulated value can be cleared using the RESET/START key.
- Batch Function: Allows users to set a specific number of notes (default: 100) for each batch. The machine automatically stops once the preset batch number is reached. The batch number can be adjusted using the number keys (0-9).
- Automatic/Manual Counting:
- Automatic Mode: The machine starts counting automatically when banknotes are placed in the hopper.
- Manual Mode: The machine only starts counting when the user manually presses the RESET/START key, even if notes are in the hopper.
- Control Panel: Features buttons for UV, MG, DD (different denomination detection), ADD, BAT (batch), MODE, RESET/START, and number keys (0 and 9 also function as UP/DOWN keys in setting menus).
- Display: The FND display shows the "Counting number" (up to 4 digits) and the "Batch number" (up to 3 digits).
- User Setting Menu: Accessible by pressing the MODE key five times. This menu allows users to configure various settings:
- SPd (Counting Speed): Adjusts the counting speed (L-1: 1200, L-2: 1300, L-3: 1500, L-4: 1800 notes/minute). Note: This setting is not available on EB-300 models.
- Ed-A (Double Level Setting): Configures double detection levels (auto, level 1, level 2, level 3, OFF).
- Bt-A (Initial Preset Number Setting): Sets the default batch number (default: 100).
- At-n (Counting Mode Setting): Switches between automatic and manual counting modes. Note: This setting is not available on EB-300 models.
- SS-A (Different Vertical Size Detection Setting): Adjusts the sensitivity for vertical size detection (L-0 to L-9, default L-3).
- Bu-A (Buzzer Level Setting): Configures buzzer sounds for errors and counting completion (On1: error beep, On2: error and completion beep, Off: no beep).
- St-A (Stacker Warning Time Setting): Sets the delay before a beep warns the user if notes remain on the stacker (default: 30 seconds).
- HP-t (Hopper Warning Time Set): Sets the delay before an "E-ST" error occurs if banknotes remain on the hopper after 10 seconds from the last count (default: 10 seconds).
- BL-A (Different Horizontal Size Detection Setting): Adjusts sensitivity for horizontal size detection (L-0 to L-9, default L-3). This menu is only for EB-310S and EB-310SU models.
- Error Messages: The machine displays specific error codes (e.g., E_DB for duplicated notes, E_CH for chained notes, E_HF for half notes, E_JA for jammed notes, E_CF/E_FC for suspected counterfeits, E_DD/E_D2 for different denomination detection) to indicate issues, along with suggested solutions.
Maintenance Features
- Daily Care: Regular cleaning of the sensors with a brush or dried cloth is recommended. Users should avoid using chemicals or wet cloths for cleaning.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a list of common error messages and their corresponding causes and solutions, guiding users to resolve issues like jammed notes, sensor problems, or detection errors.
- Safety Information: Emphasizes placing the machine on a stable surface, providing correct power, ensuring proper grounding, avoiding electrical overload, unplugging before cleaning, and never using near gas leaks. It also warns against pushing objects into openings, using near water, damaging power cords, or defeating interlock switches.
- Warranty: A 1-year warranty is provided for failures under normal conditions. Exclusions include customer negligence, unauthorized repairs, power input issues, non-official consumables, and natural disasters. A/S parts are guaranteed for 5 years after product discontinuation.
