This document describes the EAPRO TRON AI-MPPT MPPT Off-Grid Hybrid Solar PCU, an energy-efficient power control unit designed for various applications.

Function Description:

The EAPRO TRON AI-MPPT is an MPPT Off-Grid Hybrid Solar PCU (Power Controlling Unit) that utilizes Pure Sine Wave technology and an inbuilt Real-Time Clock (RTC). Its primary function is to optimize solar power utilization for maximum power saving, providing a reliable power source for commercial, domestic, or industrial electronic appliances. The device intelligently tracks the sun's position and manages power absorption from a solar array. It can operate in dual modes: UPS and Normal. In UPS mode, it offers fast switching and an input voltage range of 180V to 270V. In Normal mode, it has a wide input operating range of 90V to 290V (or 100V to 290V for 3000VA and above models). The PCU prioritizes solar power, intelligently supplementing with grid power only when necessary. It also features an active battery reverse protection system and an inbuilt fully regulated MPPT charge controller.

The TRON AI-MPPT PCU is available in various capacities, including 1050VA, 1500VA, 2200VA, 3000VA, 3.5KVA, 5350VA, 7.5KVA, and 10KVA, with nominal battery voltages ranging from 12V DC to 96V DC.

The EAPRO TRON AI-MPPT offers several user-friendly features:

  • Real-Time Clock (RTC) Integration: Divides daytime into four time zones (Sun Rises, Afternoon, Sun Sets, Night Time) for intelligent solar selection and maximum power saving.
  • Intelligent Hardware & Smart Solar Selection Algorithm: Tracks sun position based on time zone and PCU parameters like battery voltage, discharging AH, solar current capacity, total solar current, and solar coefficient.
  • Charging by Solar Power Only (SL-4): A mode for extreme grid power saving, activated by a front panel button.
  • Customizable Parameters: Users can set critical parameters such as time, battery boost voltage, battery low cut voltage, solar battery low cut voltage, solar max charging current, and mains high charging current.
  • Digital Display: Shows solar KWH used, battery voltage, mains voltage/output voltage, load percentage, solar charging current, solar current to load, and time.
  • Power Saver Mode: Enabled after 105 minutes of battery full charge.
  • Dual Charging Current Option: For Normal Charging and High Charging.
  • Intelligent Overload Sensing Circuit: With auto-retry facility.
  • Programmed Inbuilt Cooling Fan: Operates as needed.
  • Remote Monitoring & Controlling (Optional): Through WiFi/LAN/GPRS/Android APP.
  • Saving Levels (SL-1 to SL-4): Four predefined saving levels allow users to customize charging behavior and grid interaction based on their power cut frequency and preferences. SL-4 includes "No Mains Charging" (NMC) and "Mains Cut Off at Night" features for enhanced grid independence.
  • Mains Cut Off Time Setting (for night): Available in SL-4, allowing users to set a specific time for mains supply to cut off to discharge the battery.
  • Solar Cut Window: By pressing the ON/OFF switch for 10 seconds, a solar cut window appears on the display, allowing users to remove or reconnect PV input wires.

Maintenance Features:

  • Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes reading all instructions and warnings to prevent damage and injury. It advises against disconnecting battery cables while the PCU is delivering power, using only deep cycle lead-acid batteries, and ensuring proper grounding.
