Slow down your travel speed with the welding gun, making sure to pull or drag the molten metal puddle. Ensure the contact tip is close to the workpiece to shorten the length of exposed welding wire. Keep in mind that the MIG135 is rated for a maximum thickness of 1/4"; exceeding this will result in poor penetration. If welding heavy gauge metals, increase the welding gap and bevel the edges on the weld side of the pieces.
