1. Disconnect spark plug lead (A) from spark plug.
2. Remove spark plug lead grommet from top of engine cover.
3. Release stored energy in power spring by removing spark plug.
4. Remove three (3) screws (B) from starter assembly and remove
starter.
NOTE
DO NOT disassemble the starter assembly.
5. Remove the five screws that retain the engine cover. Two at the
inside top of the mounting plate (C), two on either side of the front
(D), and one at the muffler cover (E).
6. Disengage the heat deflector tabs (F) under the muffler from the
slots in the engine/muffler cover.
