What to do if my Echo Trimmer engine cranks but won't start?
    • T
      Tommy GrossJul 31, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine cranks but struggles to start, or doesn't start at all, several factors could be at play. It could be due to a clogged fuel strainer or fuel line, or issues with the carburetor. Try cleaning or replacing these parts. A fuel mixture that's too rich might also be the culprit; in this case, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or adjust the carburetor. Also, ensure the stop switch is in the ON position. Electrical problems or interlock switch issues may also be the cause, you may need to see your Echo dealer. Finally, inspect the spark plug for incorrect gap, carbon buildup, fuel fouling, or defects. Adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.), clean or replace the plug as needed.

Why does my Echo Trimmer engine die or not accelerate properly?
    • D
      David DouglasAug 13, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine runs but dies or doesn't accelerate properly, it could be due to several reasons. Contaminants or residues in the fuel may be the cause, so replace the fuel, and clean or replace the fuel filter. Normal wear of the components could also be the reason, so you should clean or replace them. If vibration is the cause, adjust the trimmer. If you have been using the trimmer for extended operation in dirty/dusty locations, clean it.
