Why is my Echo SRM-260 - 12-03 Trimmer engine cranking but hard to start?
- JJames OnealJul 26, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine cranks but is hard to start, several factors could be the cause. It could be due to a clogged fuel strainer or fuel line, which would require cleaning or replacement. Other potential causes include carburetor issues, a muffler wet with fuel, lack of spark, incorrect spark gap, a carbon-covered spark plug, a fuel-fouled spark plug, or a defective spark plug. For carburetor issues or lack of spark, it's recommended to consult your Echo dealer. You may need to adjust the spark gap to .65mm (0.026 in.). Also, clean or replace the spark plug if it is covered with carbon or fouled with fuel, and replace the plug if it is defective.
