CLD 780 TR / July 2000 27
4.2 Installing the CLD 780 TR and its peripherals
4.2.1 Location
When selecting a location for the installation of the analyzer, it is impor-
tant to ensure that there is sufficient all-round ventilation. This is especially
important if the instrument is to be mounted in a rack, in which case an
adequate fresh air supply to the air inlet slots on the front panel must be
maintained.
4.2.2 Fitting instructions for Swagelok connectors
a) First time assembly:
1. Tubing must be passed through all three pieces of the Swagelok fitting
as shown in Figure 4.1. Make sure the tube end is pushed home into
the threaded counter-fitting. The nut (2) should now be threaded fin-
gertight onto the counter-fitting.
2. a) For 1/4” and 3/8” fittings the nut needs to be tightened a further
1 1/4 (= 5/4) turns.
b) For 1/8” fittings the nut needs only a further 3/4 turn from finger-
tight.
b) Re-assembling:
1. Tighten nut fingertight.
2. Make a further 1/4 turn max with a wrench to tighten (1/8” size tube
fittings only 1/8 turn).
Note:
All tubing supplied by ECO PHYSICS as part of an instrument delivery will
have the Swagelok fittings already fitted. Install as per paragraph b)
above.
