E C O P H Y S I C S Operating Guide
CLD 780 TR / July 2000 71
The measured pre- and main chamber signals are shown on the display
under the headings “ZERO“ and “NO“. When measuring good-quality
zero air these two signals should be stable and of similar value (between
500 and 1000 cps).
Note: The count values for pre-chamber and main chamber should always
be very close to previously measured values. If this is not the case, the in-
strument has not been sufficiently flushed, poor quality zero gas is being
used or possibly the flow restrictor or main chamber is contaminated (see
chapter 7).
Press the “YES“ key to end the S
Null
determination. Window (54) appears.
Press “NO“ to abort. The “Exit“-window (60) appears, allowing the op-
tion to return to the start of the calibration (window (42)).
Press “MEAS“ to return to measure (window 1a).
(54) “NO Calibration“ window
Allows the user to determine fNO and
λ
NO.
“NO Calibration (Y/N)“ : Calibrate with NO gas. If using a gas calibra-
tor, ensure that high-quality, uncontaminated zero gas is used as the dilu-
ent.
Press “YES“ to initiate NO calibration. Window (55) appears.
Press “NO“ to skip the NO calibration and proceed directly to the cali-
bration factor validation window (58).
(55) “Enter NO Reference Concentration!“ window.
“Enter NO Reference Concentration!“: Enter the NO-reference value
(given on the calibration gas cylinder certificate or obtained from the set-
ting of the calibrator. Values from 1 to 600 ppb are accepted.
Press “YES“ to confirm the entered value. Window (56) appears.
Press “MEAS“ to abort the calibration and return to measure (window
1a).
