CLD 780 TR / July 2000 87
6.2.4 Checking the conversion efficiency (W
K
) of the converter
This short description is intended to aid the operator in carrying out the
periodic GPT procedure. It is assumed, however, that the operator has
familiarized her or himself with the detailed GPT instruction in Appendix
3. Furthermore the operator must have the necessary equipment for the
proper execution of a GPT procedure (see Fig. A3, Appendix 3).
Remarks:
The flowrate of the external ozone generator must be high enough to
produce an NO-concentration, NO(2), after being mixed with the NO-
calibration gas that is 10 - 50 % of the original concentration in the ca-
libration gas NO(1).
It is recommended that the GPT is done in the same range as is to be u-
sed for measurement.
NO(1) and NO.c(1) mean: NO and NO.c concentrations before ad-
ding ozone (O
3
)
NO(2) and NO.c(2) mean: NO and NO.c concentrations after adding
ozone (O
3
)
