  Several factors can cause this. If newly installed, allow at least 24 hours to achieve desired dryness. The set humidity level may have been reached, so readjust the humidity settings. The room might be too cold or dry for the current settings; readjust the humidity or increase the room temperature. A dusty filter can also hinder water collection, so clean or replace it. If the room is too hot, ventilate by opening a window or door. Conversely, if the room is too cold, increase the heat.

  First, ensure the dehumidifier is properly plugged into a working mains socket and switched on. Check the main power supply. If the dehumidifier has reached its pre-set level or the tank is full, it will automatically turn off. Try setting a lower humidity level or emptying and correctly replacing the tank. Also, make sure the water tank is correctly seated. If you've just turned it back on after a power failure, there's a protective time delay of 3 minutes to protect the compressor before normal dehumidifying starts.

Another possible reason is that the water float is out of position; restore it to its correct location. Lastly, ensure the dehumidifier is on a flat, even surface, using a spirit level to check, and that the water tank is correctly fitted.

  If the dehumidifier has been recently turned on, or the room temperature is below 5°C, frost may appear on the coils. This is normal and should disappear within 60 minutes. Avoid operating the dehumidifier in temperatures below 5°C.
