How to troubleshoot EcoSmart Water Heater not heating and the display is off?
    • G
      George HernandezAug 8, 2025
If your EcoSmart Water Heater isn't heating at all and the digital display is off, ensure the breakers at your main electrical panel are turned on. It's possible you have a faulty breaker or the unit is wired incorrectly. Also, the unit needs a minimum water flow rate of 0.25 GPM to activate. If the flow rate is less than this, increase it.

What to do if EcoSmart Water Heater is not hot enough?
    • E
      Eric MorseAug 17, 2025
If your EcoSmart Water Heater isn't producing hot enough water, first, increase the temperature setting on the unit. If that doesn't solve the problem, the water flow rate might be too high, exceeding the heater's capacity; reduce the flow at the faucet or slightly close the shut-off valve on the inlet side. If it's a new installation, have an electrician check the wiring for errors. Also, ensure your voltage is at 240 volts, as lower voltage reduces heating power. Finally, reduce the amount of cold water you mix, as tankless heaters require less mixing than conventional ones; also, check if your faucet's anti-scald feature is mixing in cold water and adjust it.

Why EcoSmart ECO-11 temperature at faucet is lower than setting?
    • M
      Mark ChanAug 27, 2025
If the water temperature from your EcoSmart Water Heater is less than expected, even with the temperature setting properly adjusted, it could be due to several reasons. The computer chips in your tankless water heater are programmed expecting 240 volts. Less than that may affect the digital display, showing a higher temperature than the actual output. Increase the setting to compensate. Alternatively, your faucet might have an anti-scald feature or a tempering valve mixing cold water; adjust these to reduce cold water mixing, and increase the heater setting if needed. Finally, heat loss can occur if the hot water travels a long distance through cold pipes. Increase the heater setting to compensate for this normal heat loss.
