Why does my ECS Q87H3-M6 Motherboard PC suddenly shuts down while booting up?
    • L
      Laurie SmithAug 1, 2025
If your ECS Motherboard PC suddenly shuts down while booting up, it might be due to the CPU overheating. Apply thermal grease to the CPU heatsink and ensure the CPU fan is well-connected. Check if the CPU fan is working properly while the system is running. You can also try disabling the Smartfan function in the BIOS settings to allow the fan to run at its default speed by doing a Load Optimised Default, which will also disable the Smartfan.

How to troubleshoot ECS Q87H3-M6 start up problems after prolong use?
    • A
      Abigail MoranAug 9, 2025
If you're experiencing startup problems with your ECS Motherboard after prolonged use, try clearing the CMOS values using the CLR_CMOS jumper. After clearing the CMOS, load the optimized defaults in the BIOS setup. Also, check the CPU cooler fan for dust, and clean it or replace it if necessary, as long-term dust accumulation reduces the effectiveness of cooling the processor. Ensure that the 12V power & ATX connectors are fully inserted into the motherboard connectors and that the latches of the cable and connector are locked into place. Remove the hard drive, optical drive, or DDR memory to determine which component may be faulty. Finally, check for any bulged electrolytic capacitors or abnormal components.

What to do if ECS Q87H3-M6 Motherboard power is on, fans are running but there is no display?
    • L
      Leslie EdwardsAug 25, 2025
If your ECS Motherboard has power, and the fans are running, but there is no display, make sure the monitor is turned on and properly connected to the PC. Check that the VGA adapter card (if applicable) is inserted correctly. Also, listen for beep sounds. If you are using an internal PC speaker, ensure it is connected. Continuous 3 short beeps indicate memory is not detected, while 1 long beep and 8 short beeps suggest the VGA is not detected.

How to fix ECS Q87H3-M6 when it does not power up and the fans are not running?
    • J
      Jesse HarperNov 15, 2025
If your ECS Motherboard system doesn't power up and the fans aren't running, try these steps: * Disassemble the PC, removing the VGA adaptor card, DDR memory, LAN, USB, and other peripherals, including the keyboard and mouse. Leave only the motherboard, CPU with CPU cooler, and power supply connected. Ensure the power cord is plugged into the wall socket and the switch on the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is turned “on.” Then, turn it on again to see if the CPU and power supply fans are running. * Make sure to remove any unused screws or other metal objects, such as screwdrivers, from inside the PC case to prevent damage from short circuits. * Check that the CPU FAN connector is connected to the motherboard. * For Intel platforms, inspect the pins on the CPU socket for damage or bent pi...
