  First, make sure your broadband router is working correctly. Then, try turning off both your network device and the Edimax wireless bridge, and then turn them back on. Check that the wireless bridge is powered on by looking at the PWR LED and that the Ethernet cable is properly connected to your network device. You can also use a computer to access the configuration interface of the wireless bridge to check the connection status under Wireless Settings. It should say 'Connected'.

  If encryption is enabled, double-check your WEP or WPA passphrase settings on your wireless client. Try moving closer to the wireless bridge. Unplug the power adapter of the wireless bridge, wait 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. Also, check the LEDs on the front panel; if all the LEDs are off, check the A/C power adapter.

  Set up your network device as you would for a regular Ethernet wired connection, not a wireless one. The wireless bridge is connected to your network device via a standard Ethernet cable and is 'transparent' in your network, so your network device doesn't know it's there. For example, if using a TV, check Network Connection – (Cable or wired) or similar. For a PS3, check Internet Connection Settings for a wired connection (Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Settings).

For HD streaming, at least 5 Mbps is generally required.

  Check and compare your connection speed at different times, as Internet connection speeds can fluctuate significantly during peak usage times. If you experience problems all the time, connect your computer directly to your router and test the speed compared to when connected to the wireless bridge. If your Internet connection speed is consistently fast when connected directly to your router, the connection between the wireless bridge and wireless router may not be optimal. Try relocating the wireless bridge to improve the connection. Also, ensure your connection is secure, as an unsecured wireless connection could be shared without your knowledge, causing low connection speeds.

Set your computer to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP) to see if it can obtain an IP address. If problems persist after a firmware upgrade, contact your dealer for assistance. If none of these steps work, contact your dealer for help.

  It's normal for the wireless bridge to heat up during frequent use. If you can safely place your hand on it, the temperature is likely normal. However, if you smell burning or see smoke, disconnect the wireless bridge and A/C power adapter immediately, if it is safe to do so, and contact your dealer for help.
