  If your Efco Trimmer engine won't start or only runs for a few seconds, here's what you can do: 1. Check for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug (CMR7H). 2. If the engine is flooded, follow the procedure on page 28. If it still doesn't start, repeat the procedure with a new spark plug.

  There are several reasons why your Efco Trimmer engine may not reach full speed or might emit excessive smoke: 1. Check the fuel mixture. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix. 2. The air filter might be dirty. Clean it following the instructions in the Maintenance-Air Filter Section. 3. The carburetor may require adjustment. Contact a Servicing Dealer for carburetor adjustment.

  If the Efco Trimmer engine starts and runs, but the cutting attachment isn't rotating: 1. The clutch, bevel drive, or transmission shaft might be damaged. If replacement is needed, contact a Servicing Dealer. 2. The attachment might be incorrectly installed. Mount the attachment correctly, referring to the instructions in the ASSEMBLY section.
