and things you need to do when you are nished riding.
To protect your new engine and enjoy optimum performance and service life, be sure to break-in your motorcycle
properly. To do this, avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration for the rst 35 miles (56 km) of riding.

Before riding this motorcycle, be sure you have read this entire manual up to this point including the section titled
“Important Safety Information (Pg. 8, 9 & 10) & Before Riding”.
Even if you have ridden other motorcycles in the past, take time to get familiar with the way the motorcycle works
and handles. Always practice in a safe are until you have built your skill level to a point at which it is safe to ride.
For your safety, avoid starting or operating the motorcycle
in an enclosed area with poor ventilation, such as a garage.
The motorcycle’s exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon
monoxide which can collect rapidly in an enclosed area and
result in illness or death.

Always follow the proper starting procedure as described below.

Starting When the Engine Is Cold Starting When the Engine Is Cold
1. Turn the key switch to the “ON” position.
2. Make sure the transmission is in the neutral position.
3. Turn the fuel tap to the “ON” position.
4. Pull and hold the choke lever (depending on your model).
5. Li the choke lever up.
6. Press and hold the brake lever on the right side of the handle bar.
7. Open the throttle no more than 1/4 of the way.
8. Press the start “yellow”(green) button until the engine starts.
9. Release the button as soon as the engine starts.
10. Aer about 1 minute aer the engine starts, release the choke lever (depending on your model).
11. Aer about 1 minute aer the engine starts, push the choke lever down.
12. Wait until the engine warms up for approximately 2-4 minutes. Aer the 2-4 minutes warm up, you are
ready to go.
