Overview

This document describes the Einhell EURO 2500-1 Air-Tech Compressor, providing comprehensive instructions for its operation and maintenance.

Function Description

The Einhell EURO 2500-1 is an Air-Tech Compressor designed for various applications requiring compressed air, such as operating pneumatic tools or for paint spraying. It functions by drawing in ambient air, compressing it, and storing it in a pressure vessel. The compressed air can then be released at a controlled pressure for different tasks. The device incorporates safety features like a pressure switch and a safety valve to ensure safe operation.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Mains Connection: 230 V ~ 50 Hz
  • Motor Power: 1.5 kW / 2 HP
  • Compressor Speed: 2850 min⁻¹
  • Operating Pressure: 8 bar
  • Pressure Vessel Volume: 50 liters
  • Theoretical Suction Capacity: 210 l/min
  • Sound Power Level (LWA): 97 dB(A)
  • Sound Pressure Level (LPA): 87 dB(A)
  • Protection Type: IP 20
  • Device Weight: 39 kg

Usage Features

The compressor is designed for ease of use and safety.

  • Setup: The compressor should be placed near the point of consumption to minimize long air lines and extension cords, which can cause voltage drops and hinder motor startup, especially in temperatures below 0°C. It requires a dry, dust-free environment and should not be exposed to rain or damp conditions. The operating room should be well-ventilated, with an ambient temperature between +5°C and +40°C, and free from dust, acids, vapors, explosive, or flammable gases.
  • Electrical Connection: It comes with a power cable and an earthing-pin plug, suitable for any 230 V ~ 50 Hz earthing-contact socket outlet fused at 16 A.
  • Compressed Air Fittings: The device includes a pressure switch, safety valve, two pressure gauges (one for vessel pressure and one for set pressure), a pressure reducing valve for adjusting pressure, and an On/Off switch.
  • Paint Spraying: When using for paint spraying, it is crucial to observe safety guidelines. Do not use paints or solvents with a flash point below 21°C, and never heat them. If processing health-hazardous liquids, wear filter devices (face masks) and suitable clothing. Smoking is prohibited during spraying and in the work area, as paint vapors are flammable. Open flames or spark-generating machines are not allowed. Food and drinks should not be stored or consumed in the work area. The workroom must be larger than 30 m³ and have sufficient ventilation. Always follow local police regulations for flammable or hazardous substances. Avoid using media like white petroleum spirit, butyl alcohol, and methylene chloride with PVC pressure hoses, as this can reduce their lifespan.
  • Pressure Vessel Operation: Operators are responsible for maintaining the pressure vessel in good working order, operating it correctly, supervising its use, performing necessary maintenance and repairs promptly, and implementing safety measures. Regular inspection for damage, such as rust, is required. Any damage should be reported to customer service.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential for the compressor's longevity and safe operation.

  • Condensation Water: Condensation water must be drained daily by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the pressure vessel.
  • Safety Valve: The safety valve is factory-set to the maximum permissible pressure of the pressure vessel. It must not be adjusted or have its lead seal removed.
  • Oil Level Check: The oil level must always be visible in the sight-glass, between the red control mark and the upper edge of the sight-glass.
  • Oil Change: The recommended oil is SAE 15W/40 or equivalent. The first oil change should be performed after 100 operating hours, and subsequent changes every 500 operating hours. To change the oil, switch off the motor, unplug the device, and release any air pressure. Unscrew the oil drain plug from the compressor pump, collect the old oil in a container, and dispose of it at an authorized old oil collection point. Refill with new oil until the level reaches the red mark in the sight-glass.
  • Intake Filter Cleaning: The intake filter prevents dust and dirt from entering the compressor. It should be cleaned at least every 300 operating hours. A clogged filter significantly reduces compressor performance. The filter can be removed, washed with petroleum ether, and reinserted. Always wait until the compressor has completely cooled down before cleaning to avoid burns.
  • Pressure Switch Setting: The pressure switch is factory-set, with a switch-on pressure of approximately 5 bar and a switch-off pressure of 8 bar.
  • Troubleshooting: Possible causes of motor overload and activation of the overload protection include excessively high mains voltage, high ambient temperatures, insufficient air supply, defective compressor valves, a leaking non-return valve, low oil level, or sluggish connecting rod bearings. Allow AC motors to cool down before restarting. Avoid touching hot components and pipes.
  • Spare Parts Ordering: When ordering spare parts, always provide the machine type, article number, identification number, and the required spare part number.
