11. Troubleshooting
Danger!
Before troubleshooting, switch off the equipment and pull out the battery.
The table below contains a list of fault symptoms and explains what you can do to remedy the problem if
your tool fails to work properly. If the problem still persists after working through the list then please con-
tact your nearest service workshop.

The chainsaw does
not work at all
- No power supply - Check the rechargeable battery
The chainsaw works
intermittently
- Loose connection (internal)
- On/Off switch defective
- Consult a specialist workshop

The saw chain is
dry
- No oil has been applied - Apply some oil
The chain brake
does not work
- There is a problem with the switch
mechanism in the front hand guard
- Consult a specialist workshop
The chain/guide rail
is hot
- No oil has been applied
- The chain is blunt
- Apply some oil
- Re-sharpen or replace the chain
The chainsaw
judders, vibrates
or does not saw
properly
- The chain is too slack
- The chain is blunt
- The chain is worn
- The saw teeth are pointing in the
wrong direction
- Adjust the chain tension
- Re-sharpen or replace the chain
- Replace the chain
- Refi t the chain with the teeth facing
in the correct direction
