Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the EINHELL TC-AP 690 E and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Einhell TC-AP 690 E is a multi-saw designed for sawing wood, iron, non-ferrous metals, and plastic. It is intended for its prescribed purpose and should only be used with the appropriate saw blade. Misuse, such as using it for commercial, trade, or industrial applications, will void the warranty.

Technical Specifications:

  • Mains voltage: 220-240 V~ 50 Hz
  • Power: 690 W
  • Stroke rate: 0-2800 min⁻¹
  • Stroke height: 20 mm
  • Cutting depth in wood: 115 mm
  • Cutting depth in iron: 10 mm
  • Saw blade width: 0.8-1.5 mm
  • Protection class: II
  • Weight: 2.2 kg

Sound and Vibration Values (measured in accordance with EN 62841):

  • Sound pressure level (LpA): 85.53 dB(A), KpA uncertainty: 5 dB
  • Sound power level (LWA): 96.53 dB(A), KWA uncertainty: 5 dB

Total Vibration Values (vector sum of three directions) determined in accordance with EN 62841:

  • Cutting wooden boards (front handle): Vibration emission value ah = 23.448 m/s², Uncertainty K = 1.5 m/s²
  • Cutting wooden boards (rear handle): Vibration emission value ah = 18.195 m/s², Uncertainty K = 1.5 m/s²
  • Cutting wooden beams (front handle): Vibration emission value ah = 22.344 m/s², Uncertainty K = 1.5 m/s²
  • Cutting wooden beams (rear handle): Vibration emission value ah = 16.039 m/s², Uncertainty K = 1.5 m/s²

The specified vibration values are established in accordance with a standardized testing method and can be used to compare the equipment with other electric power tools and for initial assessment of harmful effects. However, actual vibration values may change depending on usage and may exceed the specified values in exceptional circumstances.

Usage Features:

The multi-saw features an ON/OFF switch (1) with infinitely variable stroke speed control; the further the switch is pushed, the higher the stroke speed. A locking button (2) allows the ON/OFF switch to be locked during operation. To switch off, release the ON/OFF switch or briefly hold it down if locked.

Changing the Saw Blade (Fig. 2):

Always switch off and unplug the multi-saw before changing the saw blade. To change the blade, turn the ring (a) on the blade holder (6) until the blade (4) can be slipped into the slot of the blade holder (6). Then, allow the ring (a) to slide back. Pull on the blade to ensure it is tightly seated in the holder.

Adjusting the Soleplate (Fig. 3):

Always pull out the power plug before adjusting the soleplate. To adjust, undo the two screws (7) using the supplied hexagon key (3). Set the required distance and retighten the two screws (7). Ensure the soleplate is secure.

Using as a Jigsaw (Fig. 4):

Place the multi-saw on the material to be cut as shown in Fig. 4. Switch on the multi-saw and push it along against the material, adapting the cutting speed to the material.

Safety Regulations:

Users must read the complete operating instructions and safety regulations with due care to avoid injuries and damage. The manual should be kept in a safe place for future reference. If the equipment is given to another person, the operating instructions and safety regulations must also be handed over. The manufacturer is not liable for damage or accidents resulting from failure to follow these instructions.

Important Safety Warnings:

  • Danger! Read the operating instructions to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Caution! Wear ear-muffs. The impact of noise can cause damage to hearing.
  • Caution! Wear a breathing mask. Dust injurious to health can be generated when working on wood and other materials. Never use the device to work on materials containing asbestos.
  • Caution! Wear safety goggles. Sparks, splinters, chips, and dust emitted by the device can cause loss of sight.
  • Residual Risks: Even with proper use, certain residual risks cannot be ruled out, including lung damage (without a suitable dust mask), hearing damage (without ear protection), and health damage from hand-arm vibrations (if used over prolonged periods or not properly guided/maintained).

Before Starting the Equipment:

Before connecting to the mains supply, ensure that the data on the rating plate matches the mains data. Always pull the power plug before making adjustments to the equipment.

Maintenance Features:

To ensure optimal performance and longevity, the following maintenance practices are recommended:

  • Keep noise emissions and vibrations to a minimum: Use appliances in perfect working order, service and clean regularly, adapt working style to the appliance, avoid overloading, and have the appliance serviced when necessary.
  • Cleaning: Keep all safety devices, air vents, and the motor housing free of dirt and dust. Wipe with a clean cloth or blow with compressed air at low pressure. Clean the device immediately after each use. Clean regularly with a moist cloth and soft soap; avoid cleaning agents or solvents that can attack plastic parts or allow water to seep into the device, as this increases the risk of electric shock.
  • Carbon brushes: In case of excessive sparking, have the carbon brushes checked by a qualified electrician. Carbon brushes should only be replaced by a qualified electrician.
  • Replacing the power cable: If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

Disposal and Recycling:

The equipment is supplied in packaging that can be reused or recycled. The equipment and accessories are made of various materials (metal, plastic). Defective equipment should not be placed in household refuse but taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal in accordance with national recycling and waste disposal regulations. Batteries and lamps (e.g., light bulbs) must be removed from the tool before disposal.

Storage:

Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature (5-30 °C) in its original packaging.
