The EA-PS 10000 3U series of programmable DC power supplies are high-performance electronic power supplies designed for industrial test applications requiring high power, current, or voltage. These devices offer models with rated power up to 15 kW, providing a broad spectrum of applications.
Function Description:
The power supplies are internally controlled by various circuits that regulate voltage, current, and power to adjusted values, maintaining them constant where possible. They support constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), and constant power (CP) operating modes. In CV mode, the DC output voltage is held constant until the output current or power reaches its adjusted limit, at which point it automatically switches to CC or CP operation. Similarly, in CC mode, the DC output current is held constant until the power consumption reaches the adjusted power value. CP mode maintains constant DC output power. The devices also feature internal resistance regulation (CR) for simulating a virtual internal resistor in series with the load, causing a voltage drop that results in a difference between the adjusted and actual output voltage.
For remote control, the devices come standard with USB and Ethernet ports on the rear side, along with a galvanically isolated analog interface. Optional plug-in interface modules (e.g., RS232, Profibus, ProfiNet, ModBus TCP, CAN, CANopen, EtherCAT) can be added to connect to standard industrial buses.
The devices support parallel connection in a master-slave configuration using a "Share BUS" for constant current sharing and a true master-slave connection for totaling actual values. This allows up to 64 units to be combined into a single system with a total power of up to 960 kW. Series connection of two or more devices is also possible, subject to specific safety and isolation restrictions.

The touchscreen allows selection of set values, menus, and settings, as well as displaying actual values and status. Rotary knobs adjust voltage, current, power, or resistance set values, with push functions for decimal position shifting.
- DC Output Control: A dedicated On/Off button toggles the DC output. LEDs indicate the output state.
- USB Port (Front Side): For connecting standard USB sticks (FAT32 format, max 32 GB) to record measured data (logging) or load profiles. Log files are in CSV format.
- Remote Sensing: A "Sense" connector compensates for voltage drops along DC cables to the load, ensuring accurate voltage at the point of load.
- Adjustment Limits: Users can define upper and lower limits for voltage, current, power, and resistance set values to protect applications.
- Operating Modes: The device supports U/I, U/P, and U/R operating modes, which can be switched via the touchscreen or rotary knobs.
- Voltage Controller Speed: Adjustable settings (Slow, Normal, Fast) influence voltage settling time and overshoot/undershoot during load steps.
