Transmission speed adjustment pedals
Lawn tractors are equipped with a foot
hydrostat transmission.
There are two separate pedals on the right
for driving forwards and in reverse.
Driving
direction
Description
Forwards
Press the right pedal (Fig. 5b) to
drive forwards.
Reverse
Press the left pedal (5a) to drive
in reverse.
CAUTION - The mower
mechanism is switched
off if just the reverse
pedal is pressed.

lawn tractor chapter.
WARNING: The machine must be
stopped before reverse can be
engaged.
WARNING: Do not brake by using the
opposite speed adjustment lever
with respect to the direction of travel.
For example: do not press the reverse
speed adjustment pedal when travelling
forward.
Hydrostat transmission
The hydrostat transmission is operated by
two pedals (5a and 5b).
To move off first release the parking brake
(6a) when the engine is running and then
press the pedal (5b) to drive forwards or
the pedal (5a) to drive in reverse. The
further you press the pedal, the faster your
speed will be in the selected direction.
Operation of the mower mechanism
Setting the cutting height
The mower mechanism of the tractor can
be set to various different heights using a
lever (7b) on the right next to the
operators seat.
1. Move the adjusting lever (7b) in the
required direction. When the lever is
down, the cutting height is low; when
the lever is up, the cutting height is
high.
WARNING: Do not leave the lever
positioned between two notches.
Risk of sudden movement of the cutting
deck.
Switching on the mower mechanism
Switching on electrically: There is a
switch (3e) in the area of the dashboard.
Use this to switch the mower mechanism
on.
6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Prohibited uses
WARNING: Use the machine solely
for cutting grass in gardens or parks.
Any other use is considered prohibited
and shall void the warranty and
manufacturers liability, leaving the user
liable for costs deriving from damage or
injury to the user or to others.
The following are also considered
prohibited uses:
- Cutting or shredding branches or other
materials tougher than grass.
- Vacuuming or collecting tough materials,
dust or waste of any kind, leaves, sand or
gravel from the ground.
- Flattening out divots or bumpy ground;
the blade must never touch the ground
itself.
- Hitching tools or applications to the PTO
that are not specified by the
manufacturer.
- Operating the blade on surfaces other
than grass.
- Transporting other people, children or
animals on the machine or on a trailer.
- Using the machine:
1) for moving over wet or slippery areas or
slopes,
2) on surfaces in the presence of holes,
ditches, steps or stairs,
3) on surfaces with sudden changes in
gradient, hidden obstacles, sharp
corners or ground-based metal grills.
Also check the consistency of the ground,
particularly in the presence of soft areas
(e.g. freshly ploughed soil, marshy ground
and puddles) into which the wheels may
