Why is my EMAK GSH 510 Chainsaw bar and chain running hot and smoking?

  Your EMAK Chainsaw bar and chain might be running hot and smoking due to several reasons: * The chain oil tank could be empty, it's recommended to fill it each time you fill the fuel tank. * The chain tension might be too tight; adjust it as per the instructions in the Operation-Chain Tension section. * There may be an oiler malfunction. To check, run the saw at full throttle for 15 to 30 seconds, then stop it and see if oil is dripping from the bar tip guard and guide bar. If there's no oil, contact a Servicing Dealer; if oil is present, the chain may be dull or the bar may be damaged.

Verify the chain tension, adjust it according to the Operation-Chain Tension section. 3. Inspect the guide bar and chain assembly, refer to the Assembly-Assembling the Bar and Chain Section. 4. Check for damage to the chain and/or guide bar, refer to the Maintenance-Chain and/or Maintenance-Guide Bar Section. 5. Examine the clutch drum and/or rim sprocket for damage; if damaged, contact a Servicing Dealer for replacement.

  If your EMAK Chainsaw engine won't start or runs only briefly after starting, it could be due to: 1. No spark: Check for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug (L8RTF). 2. Flooded engine: Follow the procedure on page 29. If it still doesn't start, try again with a new spark plug.
