What to do if my Emerson Controller has a short stroke?
    • T
      Tracy CoxAug 9, 2025
If the Emerson Controller has a short stroke, check the position of the travel stops and readjust as necessary. If there is hardened grease, dismantle, remove any hard grease, relubricate, and reassemble. If there is debris left in the cylinder or housing during maintenance, disassemble the cylinder assembly to remove the debris, then reassemble it.

Why does my Emerson Bettis CBA830-SR-M3HW have a lack of torque?
    • R
      Rachel YoungAug 17, 2025
If your Emerson Controller seems to lack torque, first ensure the supply pressure is above the minimum operating pressure of the actuator and that the output torque produced at the supply pressure exceeds the valve torque demand. Also, check and adjust the speed controls to increase flow. Clean or replace the exhaust port silencers if the exhaust port is blocked. Examine the pipe work for blockages, crushed pipe, or leakage, and clear or replace as necessary. Examine the controls and refurbish or renew them as needed. If the piston, rod, or housing seal is defective, dismantle the cylinder/housing assembly, remove the defective seal, fit a new one, and reassemble.

Why is my Emerson Bettis CBA830-SR-M3HW moving erratically?
    • N
      nleeAug 28, 2025
If your Emerson Controller is showing erratic movement, check the operating medium for consistent supply pressure and correct as necessary. If the lubrication is inadequate, dismantle, relubricate, and reassemble the unit. Inspect for worn parts by dismantling and visually inspecting for significant wear; actuator replacement may be required.
