The Rosemount 3814 Liquid Ultrasonic Flow Meter is a four-path (eight
transducers) in-line meter designed to measure the difference in signal transit
time with and against the flow across one or more measurement path(s). A signal
transmitted in the flow direction travels faster than one transmitted against the
flow direction. Each measurement path is defined by a transducer pair in which
each transducer alternately acts as transmitter and receiver. The meter uses
transit time measurements and transducer location information to calculate the
mean velocity.
