In most cities and counties, permits will be required for the installation of electrical circuits or the construction of exterior surfaces
(decks and gazebos). In addition, some communities have adopted residential barrier codes which may require fencing and/or self-
closing gates on the property to prevent unsupervised access to a pool (or spa) by children under 5 years of age. Your
Aquatic
Fitness System
may be equipped with a locking cover that meets the ASTM F1346-91 Standard for Safety Covers and as a
result, is usually exempt from most barrier requirements. As a general practice, your local Building Department will inform you of any
applicable barrier requirements at the time a permit is obtained for the installation of an electrical circuit. Your ENDLESS POOLS
dealer can provide information on which permits may be required.

  • All models require a subpanel with GFCI breakers, mounted at least five (5) feet from the system water edge, and within sight of the system, not exceeding 50 feet.
  • The grounding conductor must be at least #6 AWG.
  • A liquid-tight flex conduit fitting should be used for connecting the supply conduit.

Usage Features

The Aquatic Fitness System is designed for ease of use, with features such as:

  • Locking Cover: Many systems are equipped with a locking cover that meets ASTM F1346-91 Standard for Safety Covers, potentially exempting them from certain barrier requirements.
  • Control Panel Functions: The system includes controls for jet operation and temperature settings.
  • Safety Features: Built-in GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) breakers and heater thermal cut-off/high limit ensure user safety.
  • Owner's Manual: Provides comprehensive instructions for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of the system. Key maintenance aspects include:

  • Easy Access to Equipment Compartment: The equipment compartment, housing electrical components, should be easily accessible for periodic care and maintenance.
  • Water Quality Management: The manual emphasizes the importance of maintaining water quality, including adjusting Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, and pH, and sanitizing the water.
  • Winterizing Instructions: The Owner's Manual includes instructions for winterizing the system, if applicable.
  • Dealer Support: Authorized Endless Pools dealers can provide services such as pre-delivery site inspection, installation, system setup, power connection, operational testing, safety feature explanation, general operation and maintenance orientation, water quality orientation, and in-store water analysis.
  • Warranty Registration: Users are advised to register the system's warranty within 10 days of delivery.

Installation Requirements

Site Selection and Preparation:

  • Foundation: The system must be placed on a structurally sound, level, and even surface capable of supporting the filled weight (e.g., a reinforced concrete pad at least six inches thick or a deck with load capacity greater than 250 lbs per square foot).
  • Drainage: The equipment compartment should be located where water will drain away from it to prevent damage to electronics. Proper drainage is also essential for indoor installations to prevent water accumulation and associated problems like dryrot or mildew.
  • Ventilation (Indoor): Adequate ventilation, possibly including a dehumidifier or exhaust fan, is recommended for indoor installations to manage humidity and prevent moisture-related issues.
  • Access: Easy access to the circuit breakers in the subpanel and the equipment compartment is necessary.
  • Recessed Installation: For recessed installations, a solid foundation is required. It is important to check blueprints for underground utilities. A minimum of 36" crawl space access outside the equipment compartment and 24" clearance around the perimeter is recommended. The subpanel should be a minimum of 5 feet away from the system. Adequate drainage is crucial to protect against rising water levels and flooding.
  • Permits: Local permits may be required for electrical circuits or construction of exterior surfaces (decks, gazebos). Residential barrier codes may also require fencing or self-closing gates, though a locking cover may provide an exemption.

Delivery Access:

  • Obstructions like gates or fences may need to be removed for delivery.
  • Depending on site access, a roll-back truck, boom truck, or telehandler may be used for placement. Cranes may be necessary for lifting the system over obstructions, and users may be responsible for crane service costs.

Electrical Installation:

  • All electrical circuits must be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with local and national electrical codes.
  • A four-wire electrical service (two line voltages, one neutral, one ground) is required from the main electrical service panel to the subpanel, and from the sub-panel to the system.
  • The subpanel must be mounted at least five (5) feet from the system water edge and within sight of the system, not exceeding 50 feet.
  • After installation, the electrician connects the conduit from the subpanel to the control box and completes wiring connections.
  • Removing or bypassing GFCI breakers voids the warranty and creates an unsafe system.
  • Long electrical runs may require larger gauge feed wire to maintain a maximum voltage drop of 3%.

The manual emphasizes that site selection and preparation are the homeowner's responsibility and encourages consultation with an authorized Endless Pools dealer, building contractors, structural engineers, or architects for specific guidance.
