3. Secure the connector by pushing the two wire clips together
until they lock in place on both sides of the connector.
4. Connect the other end of the cable to your computer, and
fasten it as required.
5. Turn on the printer, then turn on your computer.

After Setting Up the Hardware
After completing the hardware setup, check the following items.
❏ To install options, see the Reference Guide.
❏ Have your network administrator refer to the Administrator’s
Guide to make network settings. Also see the Administrator’s
Guide for instructions on installing printer software.
❏ Attach the small box included in your printer package to the
front of the printer. Keep the Quick Reference Guide in this box
for help on understanding printer messages, clearing paper
jams, and replacing the imaging cartridge.
❏ See the Reference Guide for detailed information about your
printer and its options.
