8 Limited warranty
Refill ink when the ink level is below the lower line on the ink tank. Continued use of the
printer when the ink level is below the lower line could damage the printer.
If you are not going to use the printer for a long period, be sure to unplug the power cord from
the electrical outlet.
Do not press too hard on the document table when placing the originals.
Ink safety
Keep ink bottles and the ink tank unit out of the reach of children. Do not allow children to
drink from or handle them.
Do not tilt or shake an ink bottle after removing its seal; this can cause leakage.
Be careful not to touch any ink when you handle the ink tanks, ink tank caps, and opened ink
bottles or ink bottle caps. If ink gets on your skin, wash the area thoroughly with soap and
water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. If discomfort or vision
problems remain after a thorough flushing, see a doctor immediately.
After bringing an ink bottle inside from a cold storage site, allow it to warm up at room
temperature for at least three hours before using it.
Store ink bottle in a cool, dark place.
When storing or transporting an ink bottle after removing its seal, do not tilt the bottle and do
not subject it to impacts or temperature changes. Otherwise, ink may leak even if the cap on the
ink bottle is tightened securely. Be sure to keep the ink bottle upright when tightening the cap,
and take measures to prevent ink from leaking when you transport the bottle.
Limited warranty
1. Limited warranty for Epson products
Epson products are covered by warranty against defects in workmanship and materials when
operated under normal use and handling conditions, as indicated in the product documentation, for
the period specified in section “Limited Warranty Coverage”. Coverage begins as of the date of
delivery to the purchaser by Epson or by an authorized Epson dealer (see “Epson subsidiaries and
offices in Latin America”), in the country of purchase.
Epson also guarantees that the consumables (inks, toner, batteries, or ink ribbons) included with the
product, will perform according to the usage specifications as long as they are used prior to the
expiration of their warranty period.
2. Scope of warranty
Should Epson receive notice of a defect during the warranty period, it may, at its discretion, repair or
replace the defective product at no cost to the purchaser. In the event of a replacement, the replaced
equipment will become property of Epson. The replaced item may be new or previously repaired to
the Epson standard of quality, and will assume the remaining warranty period of the product that
was originally purchased.
