INTRODUCTION
This chapter deals with the aspects
of
the PX-S involved with interfacing the
computer to other devices. Some
of
the devices are
an
integral part
of
the PX-S,
others can be purchased separately. Epson
is
continually developing further
products and so this manual cannot cover every device it is possible
to
use with
your PX-S. This manual does not mention specific products
as
in most cases
these items vary from country
to
country. You should consult your dealer for
the products available in your country and for details
of
new optional items.
4.1 Storage
of
Files and Data
The PX-S has many means
of
storing files. There are also ROM capsules
on
which manufacturers
of
applications programs can provide their programs.
These can be read but not used for storing files. The other important method
of
storing data
is
the Microcassette drive.
It
is
also possible
to
add
on
floppy
disk drives.
4.1.1 Microcassette Drive
The PX-S
is
equipped with a built in Microcassette drive. This section describes
operation
of
the drive.
a)
Drive name
The microcassette drive can be used in the same manner as other disk devices.
It
is
assigned drive name
H:.
It
is
not possible
to
assign drive name H:
to
any
other drive, nor
to
assign any other drive name
to
the Microcassette unit.
