Enabling File and Printer Sharing
If you have Windows clients, you must enable File and Printer Sharing on the
server. Follow these steps:
1. From the
Control Panel, double-click Networks and Dial-up
Connections
(or Network Connections), then double-click Local Area
Connection
.
2. Click the
Properties button.
3. Click
Install.
4. Click
Service, then click Add.
5. Select
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, then click OK.
6. Close any open windows, then restart your computer.
Enabling AppleTalk Protocol
If you have Macintosh clients, you must enable AppleTalk Protocol on the
server.
1. From the
Control Panel, double-click Networks and Dial-up
Connections
(or Network Connections), then double-click Local Area
Connection
.
2. Click the
Properties button.
3. Click
Install.
4. Click
Protocol, then click Add.
5. Select
AppleTalk Protocol, then click OK.
6. Close any open windows, then restart your computer.
