DMX512 OPERATION
For operation with a DMX controller, the EDX-4 is equipped with 6 control channels. However, it can also be
switched to a mode with only 1 or 4 channels if different functions are required. The four dimmer channels can be
addressed in parallel or separately. The DMX indicator lights up continuously as soon as a DMX signal is applied.

Parallel operation of the dimmer channels
► Call menu item Addr and set the DMX start address between 1-512.
► In the menu Run Mode > Person set the number of desired DMX control channels (1/4/6).
► The four dimmer channels of the EDX-4 can now be controlled in parallel with the DMX controller.
Separate addressing of the dimmer channels
► Go to menu item Run Mode > Person and select the option ind 4CH.
► Call menu item Addr 1 and set the DMX start address for dimmer channel 1.
► In the menu items Addr 2-4, set the DMX start addresses for the remaining dimmer channels.
► Each dimmer channel of the EDX-4 can now be controlled separately with the DMX controller.
Select DMX failure mode
► Call menu item DMX Fail and choose between the settings Blackout and Hold.
► In the Blackout setting the connected LED lamps are switched off when no DMX input signal is present.
► In the Hold setting, the last valid DMX value is held when no DMX input signal is present.
OPERATION WIHTOUT DMX CONTROLLER
The EDX-4 can also be operated without an external DMX controller. The only requirement is that the DMX
controller or the QuickDMX receiver is not connected to the EDX-4.
Set dimmer values manually
The dimmer values can be entered with the control buttons and the sliders.
► Call up the menu item Run Mode and select the Manual mode.
► In the submenu items CH1-4 you can now use the buttons ▲ and ▼ to set the desired brightness for the
individual dimmer channels continuously in the range of 0-255. The display shows the current value.
► For better ease of use, use the sliders to control the brightness.
Automatic mode
In the "Auto" operating mode, 16 chaser programs are available, which run at an adjustable speed.
► Call up the menu item Run Mode and select the Auto operating mode.
► Select the desired program 1-16 in the Prog submenu using the buttons ▲ and ▼.
► Under Speed, set the running speed of the program from 1 (fast) to 16 (slow).
