Do you have a question about the evertz X0400 Series and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The X0400 Series Routers are a line of four-input routing switchers designed for routing Standard, High Definition (HD), and 3G serial digital signals. These routers offer a cost-effective solution for various video and audio routing needs in a compact 1RU rack-mount frame.

Function Description:

The primary function of the X0400 series is to route serial digital video signals. Different models cater to specific signal types:

  • X0401S routers: Handle 270, 360, and 540 Mb/s standard definition serial digital signals.
  • X0401H routers: Route 1.5 Gb/s HDTV serial digital signals.
  • X-0401-3G routers: Support 2.97 Gb/s 3G signals.

Many models also include AES audio routing capabilities. The AES output buses can operate in an Audio Follow Video (AFV) mode, where audio switches with its associated video, or in a breakaway mode, allowing independent audio routing.

  • Setup Menu: Accessed via the SETUP button, this menu allows configuration of operating modes, references, transitions, input/output settings, GPI/GPO functions, and remote control port operation.
  • Navigation: Arrow keys (↑ & ↓) navigate menu items, and the SELECT key chooses sub-menus or confirms selections.
  • Input Labelling: Video and audio inputs can be identified with 16-character labels, which can be uploaded/downloaded from a text file or changed directly from the front panel.
  • Video Output Reclocking: Configurable reclocking mode for video outputs (reclocked or non-reclocked). Automatically turns off reclocker for SMPTE 310M signals in reclocked mode.
  • Bypass Relays: Optional feature for power failure bypass protection. Input 1 is protected by a bypass relay to output 1. Relays can be manually activated from the front panel menu.
