When one PSU is removed, the cooling for that slot will also stop, causing a risk of overheating
the processing module behind that slot.
Please make sure that the time between taking out a PSU and replacing it with a new one is as
short as possible.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect both power supply cables before servicing. There are 2
screws (Torx 10) per PSU which you have to unscrew (marked with blue dots in the picture below). The
power supply can now be removed. Simply pull out the power supply using your index fingers hooked
behind the front bezel where the screws are positioned. Insert the new power supply and push it firmly
into the power connector inside the frame. Screw the 2 lock screws tightly into the frame. After
reconnecting the power cable(s), the corresponding slot status LED should light up and the fans of the
new PSU should start spinning.
ReplacingFansinanNFR2001
The fans of an NFR2001 are part of the power supplies. When fans are reported as defective by Cortex
or Cerebrum, the PSU will have to be replaced.
If service has to be performed on the frame, please ensure that the power supplies are
switched off by disconnecting the power cable from the frame. In the case of redundant
power supplies, always ensure that both power cables are disconnected.

NFR2001 frames fit into standard 19” racks. Air-cooled racks are recommended. The frame’s own
cooling design works with air outlets to the back and the sides of the frame for the broadcast version.
Airflow is reversed in the datacenter version (going from back to front). Installation of the equipment in a
rack should be such that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not
