Questions and Answers

Why do the circuit breakers keep tripping with my Ex-Or SceneSelect II SMD810 Dimmer?
    • E
      Emma JosephAug 1, 2025
Circuit breakers may trip instantly due to a short circuit on the load, or after a delay if the dimmer is overloaded. To resolve this, check the load wiring for short circuits. Verify the dimmer loading with a current tester, remembering to de-rate for low power-factor loads and transformer losses. Also, ensure that the breaker terminals are tight.

What to do if my Ex-Or SceneSelect II SMD810 Dimmer will not respond to control panel push buttons?
    • D
      Dr. Laurie WareAug 7, 2025
If the dimmer isn't responding to the control panel, the control panel might be incorrectly wired or configured. Check the operation of the LEDs on the control panel. Push the button on the panel and study the response of the service LED.

How to fix fluorescent lights that won’t dim with my Ex-Or Dimmer?
    • E
      Elizabeth TaylorAug 14, 2025
If fluorescent lights won’t dim, the ballast type might be incorrect, or the ballast may be incorrectly wired. Verify the ballast type, check the wiring against the ballast manufacturer’s diagram, and check the 1-10V/DSI settings.

What to do if the power supply indicator LED is lit, but there is no Service LED activity on my Ex-Or Dimmer?
    • D
      dennisseanAug 19, 2025
If the power supply indicator LED is lit, but there is no Service LED activity, the supply voltage may be too low, there may be a short circuit on the network, or the control PCB could be faulty. Check that the supply voltage is at least 75% of the rated voltage. Check the 5V & 12V terminal voltages; the 5V supply must be present. Disconnect the network bus and restore power. If the issue persists, replace the control PCB.

Why does my Ex-Or Dimmer not operate at all?
    • L
      Lauren FarleyAug 26, 2025
If the dimmer does not operate at all, and there is no Service LED activity and the power supply indicator LED on the PCB is not lit, it could be due to an incorrect connection of the mains supply, or no power available. Check the power supply to the dimmer and verify the Line and Neutral input connections.
