Valve Spring Free Length
Measure the free length of the valve springs.
Standard
Service limit
1.55” – 1.60”
1.53”
Replace the spring if they shorter than the service limit.
Valve Seat Width
Remove carbon deposits from the combustion
chamber. Inspection the valve seats for pitting or
other damage. Measure the valve seat width.
Standard
Service limit
0.028” – 0.030”
0.040”
If the valve seat width is under the standard, or
over the service limit, recondition the valve seat
