Questions and Answers

Overview

This document describes a front-loading washing machine, model 3FE-8112, designed for household use. It provides comprehensive instructions for its operation, maintenance, and various washing programs.

Function Description

The washing machine is equipped with an electronic display, a program dial, and buttons for temperature, spin speed, and time remaining, offering a user-friendly interface for selecting and customizing wash cycles. It features a drum for laundry, a detergent drawer for dispensing washing agents, and a pump filter cover for maintenance access.

The device offers a wide range of washing programs tailored for different fabric types and soil levels. These include programs for cotton (60°C and 40°C), pre-wash, Eco 20, Easy Care, wool, rinsing, Allergy Safe, spin/drain, Sensitive/Hand Wash, Outdoor Clothing, Mixed, Jeans/Dark Garments, Daily 60 min, and Rapid 15 min. Each program is designed with specific default temperatures, maximum spin speeds, and load capacities to ensure optimal cleaning and fabric care.

Additional functions, such as "Delay End," allow users to postpone the start of a wash cycle, providing flexibility in managing laundry tasks. The machine also supports customization of wash parameters like temperature and spin speed, enabling users to fine-tune cycles according to their specific needs.

Usage Features

Preparation: Before starting a wash, users are instructed to empty pockets, close all zips and buttons on duvet covers, and place delicate or small items in a protective mesh laundry bag. Laundry should be sorted by fabric type and loaded into the drum according to recommended maximum load sizes: full drum for cotton, half drum for synthetics, and one-third drum for silk and wool. The door must be closed firmly against the seal.

Detergent Dispensing: The detergent drawer has three compartments: one for main wash detergent, one for fabric softener or other special care liquids, and one for pre-wash detergent. Users are advised to pour the recommended dose of washing detergent into the appropriate compartment and add fabric conditioner if desired. The program table indicates which compartments to use for each wash cycle.

Program Selection and Customization: To select a program, the user turns the program selector knob to the desired setting. The electronic display shows the estimated time remaining for the cycle. Users can customize the program by changing the temperature, spin speed, or enabling additional functions. The "Delay End" function allows scheduling the wash to start at a later time, ranging from 1 to 23 hours. Once all settings are chosen, the START/PAUSE button initiates the cycle.

End of Wash: Upon completion of a program, the machine automatically stops, and "- -" flashes on the electronic display. The door can then be opened, and the laundry removed. To ensure proper drying of the machine's interior, the door should be left ajar. The program dial must be switched to the STOP position, the machine unplugged, and the water tap turned off.

Safety Guidelines: Before initial use, it is crucial to remove all safety packaging and ensure the machine is level. The machine should not be started until it is properly set up. Only delicate fabrics, synthetics, and wool should be washed using their designated programs, and only up to the recommended maximum load sizes.

Maintenance Features

General Care: To extend the washing machine's lifetime, it is important to ensure the drum seal is dry after each wash by leaving the door ajar. This helps prevent mold and mildew buildup.

Cleaning: Users are explicitly warned against cleaning the washing machine with harsh or abrasive detergents, as these can damage the appliance's surfaces and internal components. Regular, gentle cleaning is recommended to maintain the machine's condition.

Troubleshooting: The manual implies that proper operation and maintenance contribute to the longevity of the device, suggesting that adherence to the guidelines can prevent common issues. While specific troubleshooting steps are not detailed in this quick start guide, the emphasis on correct setup and usage implies that these are key to avoiding problems.

Child Lock: The control panel includes a child lock feature (indicated by "8+9"), which can be activated to prevent accidental changes to settings or program interruption during operation, enhancing safety in households with children.
