On receipt of your generator set, check that the equipment is in good condition and that
your order is complete. The generator should be handled with care and no sudden move-
ments, after preparing the area for its storage or use in advance
Earth the generator set each time it is used to prevent electrocution. For this purpose, use
a 10 mm2 copper wire attached to the generator’s earth connector and a galvanised steel
earth rod inserted 1 metre into the ground (equipment not supplied with generator set).
This earthing also dissipates the static electricity generated by electrical machinery
DANGER: Never connect the generator set earthing wire to piping. In addition,
the piping is carrying flammable substances such as gas or fuel oil, there is
always a risk of a fire or explosion in the event of a short-circuit
Never try to start the generator before carrying out the preparation as described
in the precedent section of the manual.
