13.2 Cleaning the air lter
Fouled air lters diminish the engine output due to reduced air supply to the carburettor.
Regular inspection is therefore essential. The air lter (32) should be checked regularly and
cleaned as required.
The air lter (32) must be checked more frequently in the case of very dusty air.
• Loosen the catch for the air lter cover (5) by turning it anti-clockwise. (See g. M)
• Remove the air lter cover (3).
• Remove the air lter (32). (See g. N)
• Clean the air lter (32) by knocking out or blowing out (with compressed air).
The re-assembly takes place in reverse order.
m ATTENTION
Never clean the air lter (32) with petrol or ammable solvents.
13.3 Cleaning the chain drive
m WARNUNG
Risk of injury!
Always wear protective gloves when touching the saw chain (17). Danger of injury due to
the sharp cutting teeth!
Note
Clean the chain drive after each use.
• Set the chainsaw down on a level and stable surface.
• Pull the front hand guard (1) back as far as it will go to release the chain brake (see g. B).
• Remove the two xing nuts (20) with the spark plug wrench / slotted screwdriver (28).
• Remove the chain cover (22).
• Carefully remove the saw chain (17) from the guide bar (16) and the chain wheel (26).
• Remove the guide bar (16). Clean them with a brush.
• Now thoroughly clean the entire chain drive area and the chain cover (22) with a brush or
by blowing it out (with compressed air).
The re-assembly takes place in reverse order.
13.4 Maintenance of the spark plug
• Remove the air lter (33) as described in 13.2 “Cleaning the air lter”.
• Remove the spark plug connector (33) by turning it to the left and right and pulling it at
the same time. Hold and pull the spark plug connector (33) by the connector only. Never
pull on the cable! (See g. O)
• Loosen the spark plug with the enclosed spark plug wrench / slotted screwdriver (28).
• The re-assembly takes place in reverse order.
