ticular, natural wear, overloading, incorrect
handling, or damage caused by the operator,
or damage caused through use of the equip-
ment contrary that speci ed in the Operating
Instructions, or damage which was known
at the time of purchase, is not covered by
the warranty. Furthermore, damage caused
by the use of non-original accessories and
consumable materials (e.g. sanding pads)
is also excluded.
Complaints can only be recognised if the
tool is returned while still assembled to the
supplier or an authorised Festool Customer
Service workshop. Keep the Operating In-
structions, Safety Instructions, Spare Parts
List and purchase receipt in a safe place.
Otherwise the respective, current warranty
conditions of the manufacturer shall apply.

14 Troubleshooting
Problem Possible causes Remedy
PLANEX bumps
over the surface.
Suction power too strong Reduce suction power or switch to
external extraction if necessary.
Hard repair compound or hard sub-
layers
Reduce suction power or switch to
external extraction if necessary.
Reduce speed.
Extraction power
is insuf cient.
Filter element on SRM 45 E PLANEX
blocked / clogged.
Clean the lter element regularly:
Option 1: Set the suction power
control to the maximum setting.
Cover the nozzle, suction hose or
intake opening on the extractor with
the surface of your hand for 10 sec-
onds until the automatic cleaning
cycle starts.
To clean the second lter half:
switch off the machine, switch on
again and repeat the procedure.
Option 2: Clean the lter element
mechanically (extracting).
Option 3: Check the lter element
for damage and clogging. Insert a
new lter element regularly.
Disposal bag inserted incorrectly. The holes punched in the disposal
bag must be inside the container.
Paper bag inserted instead of dis-
posal bag.
Always work with the disposal bag
when operating the PLANEX (black
bag).
Suction power setting on SRM 45 E
too low.
Adjust the suction power to a higher
setting.
