Overview

The DFT8 Reverse Osmosis Filter is a tankless water purification system designed for domestic use, utilizing multi-stage filtration based on reverse osmosis membrane technology. It is engineered for easy installation by individuals with basic DIY and plumbing skills, connecting directly to the home's primary water supply.

Function Description

The primary function of the DFT8 is to purify municipal tap water, removing impurities down to 0.0001 microns. It operates by passing water through a series of filters, including a Polypropylene PP cotton + Activated carbon rod filter element (PCT filter) and a Reverse Osmosis (RO) antipermeable membrane. The system is designed to provide a continuous supply of purified water on demand.

Upon powering on, the unit initiates an automatic 30-second flush cycle. Water production is activated when the high-voltage switch is closed, and can be started or stopped by opening or closing the smart faucet. The system includes a booster pump to maintain optimal pressure for filtration.

The device features an intelligent controller that manages various operations, including flushing, water production, and filter element monitoring. It also incorporates a high-voltage switch with a check valve and solenoid valves for intake and flushing.

Usage Features

The DFT8 features a user-friendly interface with a display screen (light belt) and three control buttons: Select, Reset, and Power.

Smart Light Display Faucet:

  • Upon power-on, the faucet's light ring flashes blue, orange, and blue three times.
  • During normal operation, the light ring illuminates bright blue when the faucet is on.
  • When a filter element nears 10% remaining life, the light ring flashes blue.
  • When a filter element's life depletes, the light ring illuminates red, indicating replacement is needed.
  • The light ring turns off when the faucet is not in use to conserve power.

Display Screen (Light Belt):

  • Full Water State: Remains brightly lit.
  • TDS Display: Shows real-time Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) value of purified water, updating every 10 seconds during water production. It remains static in a full water state.
  • Flushing Status: Flashes to indicate flushing mode.
  • Water Production Status: Exhibits a "racing lantern" display.

Control Buttons:

  • Select Key:
    • Press and hold for 3 seconds (when not flushing) to initiate an 18-second strong flush cycle.
    • In filter reset mode, briefly press to cycle through filter elements.
  • Reset Key:
    • Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter filter element reset mode.
    • While in reset mode and a filter element is selected, press and hold for 3 seconds within a 10-second window to reset the selected filter element and exit reset mode.
  • Power Key:
    • Tap to toggle the display interface on or off (the power indicator remains lit). This button only controls display brightness, not the entire system.

Automatic Flushing:

  • Automatic 30-second flush upon startup.
  • Automatic 18-second flush if water production is continuous for ≥ 30 minutes and then reaches a full water standby state.
  • Automatic 18-second flush after a continuous standby time of ≥ 6 hours without flushing.

Maintenance Mode:

  • If the system fails to reach a full water state within 60 minutes of continuous water production, it stops water production, displays an "E1" error code, and sounds an alarm five times every half hour. To exit, power off and then on.

Post Water Production:

  • After water production stops, the internal membrane empties and undergoes a thorough rinse, expelling approximately 380ml of wastewater. This is a normal process for optimal filter performance.

Maintenance Features

Filter Element Life Indicator:

  • The filter indicator light illuminates when replacement is needed.
  • The system tracks cumulative usage time and natural pump time.
  • When cumulative usage time reaches a preset limit, an alarm sounds 10 times, and the filter element indicator along with its life bar frame flashes until reset.
  • The filter element life indicator has a power-off memory function, preserving its state through power cycles.

Filter Element Replacement Cycle (Recommended):

  • PCT Filter: 8-12 months
  • RO Filter: 12-24 months
  • Actual lifespan may vary based on local water conditions, quality, pressure, and temperature.

Indicators for Replacement:

  • Deterioration in filtered water quality or taste.
  • Noticeable reduction in water flow rate (ensure it's not due to low water temperature).
  • Severe blockages preventing water production or clean water flow.

Filter Replacement Procedure:

  1. Preparation: Run the machine for 3-5 minutes, then cut off power and water supply.
  2. Removing Old Filter: Remove the cover plate. Rotate the filter element counterclockwise until the arrow logo aligns with the unlock logo, then remove. Wipe away residual water.
  3. Installing New Filter: Position the new filter element with its arrow logo aligned with the unlock indicator on the housing. Rotate clockwise until the arrow aligns with the lock indicator.
  4. Resetting Filter Life: Place the cover plate back. Reconnect power and water. Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds to enter the filter reset program. Tap the select key to choose the replaced filter element. Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds to complete the reset.
  5. Flushing: Press and hold the "Select" button for 3 seconds to initiate a flushing cycle. Turn on the faucet and allow the system to rinse for 5-10 minutes, then turn off the faucet. Inspect for leaks.

General Maintenance:

  • Do not remove parts of the machine yourself to prevent water leakage and damage.
  • Use in a dry place at 4-40°C.
  • If not used for more than 24 hours, turn off the water source and power supply.
  • Only authorized repair centers should perform repairs to ensure safety and warranty validity.
  • Use only manufacturer-approved accessories and filter elements to maintain normal operation and warranty.

Precautions:

  • Ensure water supply pressure is between 1 and 4 bars. If outside this range, install a booster pump or pressure-reducing valve.
  • Do not install outdoors if temperatures exceed the specified range or in direct sunlight.
  • Avoid storing harsh chemicals near the unit.
  • Position the unit to allow horizontal removal of filters for easy access.
  • Do not obstruct the drainpipe or install valves on it, as this hinders wastewater drainage.
  • In case of failure, immediately unplug the power plug and close the water inlet ball valve.
  • Children and incapacitated persons should use the product under supervision.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and outdoor exposure.
  • Do not store or expose the product below 0°C (antifreeze).
  • Do not store near heat sources, as it may cause burning or deformation.
