Trouble shooting
SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS
Pressing POWER does not turn
the dryer on
1. Is the electrical cord plugged in? If not plug the cord in.
2. If there is a switch, is it switched on?
3. Could your household power supply be at fault? (If your plug
is suitable, try plugging another electrical appliance into the
same outlet).
4. Check your house circuit breakers and fuses. If they are at
fault contact an electrician.
Dryer does not heat 1. Is the dryer set to the AIR DRY cycle?
2. Is the gas turned on? (Gas/LPG dryers only)
3. Has the dryer progressed to COOL DOWN. (Check the
Progress lights).
4. If the problem persists call for service.
Clothes are still wet/damp 1. Is the dryer set on DAMP?
2. Try selecting a higher dryness level.
3. Is the drum warm? If not, is the dryer set to AIR
DRY?
4. If you have a gas dryer, is the gas turned on? Is your LPG
bottle empty?
5. Try drying similar weight clothes together.
6. If the problem persists call for service.
Pressing START/PAUSE does not
start the dryer
1. Is the lid open? Shut the lid and press
START/PAUSE.
2. Is there a fault displayed on the panel? Refer to page 26, - If
Your Dryer Beeps For Help.
Dryer is taking a long time to dry 1. Is the lint bucket full? If so empty it to improve performance.
2. Is the airflow system free from obstruction?
3. Has the dryer been vented correctly? Is the venting distance
too great?
4. If you have a gas dryer, is the gas turned on? Is your LPG
bottle empty?
5. Is the machine over-loaded?
6. Have heavyweight items been separated from lightweight
items?
7. Are the clothes very wet when they are removed from the
washing machine? Increase your washers spin speed.
8. Are you using the AIR DRY cycle?
9. Is your dryer on DELICATE?
Dryer keeps stopping and
starting
1. Your dryer has a reverse action tumble. When it changes
direction it will pause momentarily and will start again in the
opposite direction, this is normal.
2. Has WRINKLE FREE been turned on?
