Switch between Celsius/Fahrenheit and insert/replace the 9V battery.
Aim at target, press On Button. Consider distance-to-spot size and field of view.
LCD shows temperature, HOLD status, and low battery indicator.
Scan the area with up/down motion to find the desired hot spot.
Ensure target is larger than spot size; closer for smaller targets.
The measured spot size increases with distance from the object.
Avoid shiny surfaces, glass, steam, dust; consider emissivity.
