How to Use the Toner

For unterminated cable, connect the
correct adapter to an ID cap or the toner
cap, then connect the cap to the far end of
the cable.

Connect the correct adapter to the main
unit.

Turn on the main unit, then connect it to
the near end of the cable.

The LED on the main unit shows the results:
•
Off: The circuit is open.
•
Red: The circuit is shorted.
•
Green. The main unit emits a loud,
steady tone: The circuit has continuity
to the toner cap or to a 50
Ω or 75 Ω
terminator. If the toner cap is
connected, it also emits a loud, steady
tone.
Note
If the condition of the line changes,
the main unit emits a loud, brief tone.
